Pune Leads the Way with Maharashtra's First Model SRO

In a significant move to upgrade citizen services, a consortium comprising VFS Global and WE Excel Software Pvt. Ltd. has inaugurated Maharashtra’s first Model Sub-Registrar Office (SRO) in Pune. Inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Revenue, Shri Chandrashekhar Bawankule, on August 13, the facility marks the commencement of a five-year contract to deploy 60 such centers across the state.

These state-of-the-art facilities will function alongside existing government offices as a premium, optional service. By leveraging end-to-end digital infrastructure and trained personnel, the Model SROs aim to resolve common pain points like lengthy queues and overcrowding. Citizens will benefit from enhanced amenities, including air-conditioned lounges, Wi-Fi, and refreshments. Following the Pune launch, the first phase of the rollout will introduce four additional centers across Mumbai, Thane, and Nagpur.
