Kochi Takes Flight: ₹50 Cr Push for Aviation MRO Hub

Cochin International Aviation Services Limited (CIASL) has launched a ₹50 crore project to position Kochi as a key player in India’s aviation maintenance sector, aiming to transform the city into a major hub for aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO).

The initiative was formally inaugurated today with CIASL Chairman S. Suhas laying the foundation stone for the company’s third MRO hangar and covered aircraft parking facility at Cochin International Airport.

The upcoming state-of-the-art hangar will cover 53,800 square feet and is scheduled for completion in just eight months. This expansion marks a significant step in CIASL’s growth strategy, designed to meet rising demand for MRO services and strengthen Kochi’s role as a vital node in India’s aviation infrastructure.
