Kaynes Circuits Lands in Tamil Nadu with ₹4,995 Crore PCB Plant

Kaynes Circuits India will invest Rs 4,995 crore to set up an advanced electronic components manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, marking the state’s first major investment in PCB manufacturing.

The facility will produce 74-layer PCBs, HDI and flexible PCBs, high-performance laminates, camera module assemblies, and wire harness assemblies. This project supports Tamil Nadu’s strategy to develop a new electronics manufacturing cluster in Thoothukudi, complementing existing hubs in Sriperumbudur and Hosur.

Strategically located near the upcoming VinFast EV plant, the unit is expected to create approximately 4,700 jobs in Thoothukudi and surrounding districts. The project will also leverage incentives under the Rs 22,919-crore Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme, aimed at promoting domestic production of critical components such as PCBs, Li-ion cells, and passive elements.

This investment is set to significantly strengthen India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem and enhance its global supply chain competitiveness.
