Karnataka's US Roadshow: A ₹5,500 Crore Boost for Innovation & Jobs

In a strategic move to strengthen its innovation and technology ecosystem, the Government of Karnataka has concluded a 10-day U.S. roadshow, attracting potential investments worth ₹5,500 crore. The initiative is expected to generate over 7,200 new employment opportunities, with additional deals currently under negotiation.

Organized by the Department of Electronics, IT & Biotechnology, the roadshow spanned Boston, New York, and San Francisco from June 16 to 25. Led by Dr. Ekroop Caur, Secretary (IT/BT), and Hoskote MLA Sharath Bachegowda, the delegation engaged with over 120 companies, signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Letters of Intent (LoIs), and highlighted Karnataka’s strengths in biotechnology, ESDM, and deep tech.

The state also showcased its capabilities at the BIO International Convention in Boston and the Design Automation Conference (DAC) in San Francisco. High-level academic and research collaborations were explored with institutions such as MIT and Stanford University’s StartX incubator, focusing on areas like fabless semiconductor design, AI in education, and startup acceleration.

As a next step, Karnataka aims to deepen its engagement with StartX by offering global startups access to subsidised infrastructure, regulatory support, and flagship initiatives including Elevate, LEAP, and Beyond Bengaluru, positioning the state as a global hub for innovation-led growth.
