The Gujarat government has unveiled the Gujarat Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy-2025 (GECMS-2025), with the goal of attracting over ₹35,000 crore in new investments and creating high-skilled employment in the state’s growing electronics manufacturing sector.
Aligned with the Central government’s Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), the policy offers dual financial incentives—from both the Centre and the state. Any project approved by MeitY (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) under ECMS will be automatically eligible for matching support from Gujarat, which has committed to release its share within 30 days of the Central disbursement.
The policy focuses on critical electronics components and technologies, including: Multi-layer and HDI printed circuit boards, Lithium-ion cells, SMD passive components, Camera and display modules, Associated manufacturing machinery
Beyond manufacturing, the policy also emphasizes innovation and talent development. Recognised institutions in Gujarat will be eligible for up to ₹12.5 crore in state assistance to establish centres of excellence, finishing schools, or applied R&D laboratories.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel described the policy as a transformative step toward positioning Gujarat as a national hub for electronics innovation and manufacturing excellence.
