Greater Cochin's Infopark Phase III Launches 300-Acre IT Campus

The Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) has initiated the formal process for land pooling for Infopark Phase III—Kerala’s first land pooling initiative—marking a major step toward developing a next-generation IT campus.

The proposed 300-acre project, spanning Kizhakkambalam and Kunnathunadu, is part of a broader plan to pool nearly 1,000 acres. A government order issued last year authorised GCDA to implement the project, with jurisdictional challenges recently resolved through a new directive.

The process will begin with a notification outlining the pooling area, survey numbers, and boundary maps, followed by consultations with landowners. If 75% consent is secured, GCDA will proceed with master planning, stakeholder consultations, and final project approvals. Landowners will receive a proportion of developed land in return; if consensus falls short, alternative sites will be explored.

Infopark Phase III is envisioned as a model for sustainable urban IT development. The project will incorporate carbon neutrality, water self-sufficiency, comprehensive waste management, and robust multimodal connectivity. It will house IT campuses, residential zones, commercial centres, educational institutions, hospitals, and cultural and sports infrastructure.

GCDA positions this initiative as a transformative step, aligning technology-driven growth with inclusive and sustainable urban planning.
