In a significant boost to Himachal Pradesh's public health network, State Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the newly constructed Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College & Hospital in Chamba on August 2, 2026. Executed by NBCC (India) at a cost of ₹334.35 crore, the 200-bed facility integrates advanced medical treatment with modern educational infrastructure.

The establishment addresses a long-standing requirement for specialized local medical care, eliminating the travel burden for patients in remote regions. The successful delivery of this complex underscores NBCC’s engineering capabilities in executing complex healthcare infrastructure projects nationwide.
