Adidas is aggressively expanding its production capacity in India as the country takes on a larger role in its global supply chain. Though Vietnam and Indonesia still dominate sourcing, India's share—currently estimated at 5–10% of global footwear production—is climbing fast.
As of January 2026, Adidas partners with 14 Indian supplier facilities employing over 22,600 people, with Tirupati-based Apache Footwear leading the pack. That network gets a massive boost this week with the launch of the Evervan Kothari mega-plant in Karur, Tamil Nadu. The joint venture is expected to churn out 40 million pairs of footwear annually and generate 15,000 new jobs, cementing India's status as a critical manufacturing base for the global sportswear leader.
