Honoring a Legend: Mumbai's Newest ₹217 Cr Research Hub

The Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) has floated a tender for the construction of the Sahitya Ratna Annabhau Sathe Research and Training Institute at Chirag Nagar in Ghatkopar, Mumbai.

The project, estimated at ₹217.35 crore, is scheduled for completion within 36 months. The proposed institute will function as a research and training centre aimed at promoting educational and cultural initiatives in the city. It forms part of the SRA’s broader push to strengthen public infrastructure and community-oriented facilities across Mumbai.

The institute is planned on land comprising CTS Nos. 96, 98 to 180, 182 to 221, 224 (part), 264, and 265 of village Ghatkopar-Kirol at Chirag Nagar, Ghatkopar (West). The deadline for submission of bids is March 23, 2026.
