Narsingpur’s 3km Lifeline: New Flyover in the Works to Ease Traffic

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has proposed the construction of a three-kilometre flyover at Narsingpur on the Delhi–Gurgaon Expressway to tackle chronic traffic congestion in the area.

The flyover is intended to ease bottlenecks on a stretch that frequently experiences slow-moving traffic, particularly where vehicles transition from a four-lane section at Hero Honda Chowk to a narrower three-lane carriageway near Narsingpur. Traffic conditions are further worsened by poorly maintained service roads and unauthorised road cuts.

NHAI Chairman Santosh Kumar has instructed officials to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the project. However, the flyover’s design and alignment will be finalised only after a comprehensive feasibility and traffic study. An NHAI official noted that the proposal is currently at a conceptual stage and will undergo detailed evaluation before further decisions are taken.

The initiative is part of NHAI’s broader efforts to strengthen road infrastructure, improve connectivity, and ensure safer and more efficient traffic movement along key corridors.
