The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has extended the completion deadline for the Madhuban Bapudham rail-overbridge (ROB) by five months following requests from the project agencies. During a review meeting with the Railways and the UP State Bridge Corporation (UPSBCL), it was noted that UPSBCL requires an additional month to finish its pending work, while the Railways indicated a five-month timeline. Under construction since 2020, the ROB is now expected to be completed within the next five to six months.
The four-lane, 751-metre bridge—being built at a cost of ₹90 crore—will link Hapur Road with Delhi-Meerut Road, offering a crucial bypass that eliminates the current 14 km detour. The project will significantly improve connectivity for areas such as Madhuban Bapudham and Govindpuram. Delays have stemmed from design modifications, funding gaps, and operational challenges.
