Speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Rajkot on January 11, 2026, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, underscored Gujarat’s central importance to the group’s long-term strategy.
Ambani outlined five major commitments to the state, beginning with a plan to double Reliance’s investment in Gujarat from ₹3.5 lakh crore to ₹7 lakh crore over the next five years, aimed at generating employment, livelihoods and sustained economic growth. He said Reliance is positioning itself to become a global leader in clean energy and green materials, with Jamnagar set to transition from a hydrocarbon hub into India’s largest exporter of green energy, driven by multi-gigawatt solar projects and advanced energy storage systems.
He also announced plans to make Gujarat a pioneer in artificial intelligence, with Jio developing India’s largest AI-ready data centre and launching a people-centric AI platform. Additional commitments include support for the state’s Olympic ambitions, the establishment of a world-class hospital, and the expansion of educational institutions.
“The development of Gujarat is central to everything we do,” Ambani said, reaffirming Reliance’s long-term vision for growth, innovation and sustainable development in the state.
