The ₹1,600 Crore Prescription: Ambuja Neotia's Healthcare Ambitions

Kolkata-based Ambuja Neotia Group is set to establish seven new healthcare facilities, including hospitals in Guwahati and Raipur, with a projected investment of ₹1,600–1,800 crore over the next three to four years.

The expansion will be funded through a combination of internal accruals and bank financing, though the group remains open to private equity partnerships for strategic acquisition opportunities. At present, Ambuja Neotia operates three hospitals — two in Kolkata and one in Siliguri — with a combined capacity of approximately 500 beds.

Following the completion of its upcoming projects, the group’s total bed capacity is expected to increase to nearly 2,000. The expansion strategy emphasizes both mother and child care and multispecialty services, with near-term launches planned in Guwahati and a dedicated paediatric multispecialty wing in Kolkata.

The company is also eyeing growth in other East Indian cities such as Bhubaneswar, Patna, and additional locations across West Bengal, and is open to inorganic growth opportunities.

Executive Director Parthiv Neotia shared, “In two months, we will be launching our paediatric multispecialty hospital — an extension of our New Town facility in Kolkata. This will add 100 beds and position it as one of the most advanced paediatric multispecialty hospitals in the city. With cutting-edge technology, we aim to make it a top choice for paediatric care across East India.”
