₹197.81 Cr Boost: CM Stalin Opens State-of-the-Art Hospital in Vellore

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the Government Pentland Multi-Speciality Hospital in Vellore on June 25, 2025, marking a significant milestone in strengthening public healthcare infrastructure in the region. Developed at a cost of ₹197.81 crore, the seven-storey facility expands the previous 125-bed setup to a modern 560-bed hospital.

The state-of-the-art hospital features over ten super-speciality departments, including cardiology, neurology, nephrology, and obstetrics & gynaecology. It is also equipped with ten surgical theatres and dedicated units for emergency care, cancer treatment, x-ray diagnostics, and plastic surgery.

Accompanied by Cabinet Ministers and local officials, CM Stalin toured the facility, including the maternity and outpatient wards, and interacted with hospital staff. Health authorities noted that the hospital is fully equipped to deliver advanced medical services to thousands of residents in and around Vellore.

In addition, the Chief Minister virtually launched seven new Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in Sekkadu, Tiruvalam, Ozur, Ponnai, Odugathur, and Thorapadi, along with two sub-health centres in Pernambut and Anaicut. Each PHC, built at a cost of ₹1.2 crore, is expected to serve approximately 50,000 people.

During his visit from Katpadi railway station to the hospital, Mr. Stalin greeted residents and posed for photographs, receiving a warm and enthusiastic welcome from the public.
