Narayana Health Bags Prime Bengaluru Land for ₹246 Crore

Narayana Health has acquired approximately three acres of land on Bannerghatta Main Road in Bengaluru for ₹246 crore, reinforcing its footprint in one of the city’s most prominent and rapidly growing healthcare corridors. The acquisition, executed through three separate sale deeds dated February 3, 2025, involved members of the Markose family and their firm, Kelachandra Veneer Industries, according to documents from Propstack.

The largest parcel—measuring 93,500 sq. ft. and containing some dilapidated structures—was purchased from the firm for ₹177.7 crore. Two additional plots were acquired from individual sellers: Neelu Markose sold 17,424 sq. ft. for ₹33.1 crore, while Thomas Markose sold 18,513 sq. ft. for ₹35.17 crore.

Located in Hulimavu, the newly acquired land offers strategic proximity to Narayana Health’s existing facilities and is expected to be developed into a super-specialty hospital, research center, or training institute. The move comes on the heels of Narayana’s ₹169 crore purchase of 1.2 acres in Begur Hobli in March 2024.

Founded by Dr. Devi Shetty in 2000, Narayana Health currently operates 19 hospitals and 3 heart centers, with over 5,860 operational beds. Industry experts view the acquisition as a clear indicator of the group’s long-term strategy to scale its infrastructure in response to the growing urban demand for advanced, high-quality healthcare.
