ECDS, a company focused on sustainable development technologies, has announced plans to establish its first medical equipment manufacturing facility in India at Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.

The project involves an investment of ₹780 crore under a joint venture with three South Korean firms. The manufacturing unit will come up on 15.60 acres within the Medical Equipment Park at Vikram Udyogpuri in Ujjain, of which 1.5 acres have already been acquired. Construction is scheduled to begin this year, with the first phase of production targeted for completion by April 2027. The initial phase is expected to generate employment for approximately 500 people.

The company also plans to invest an additional ₹1,250 crore in a second phase, which is slated to be implemented within three years of the commencement of production.

The Ujjain facility will manufacture medical diagnostic kits for diseases such as cancer, kidney ailments, and diabetes. Rajesh Bharadwaj, Director of ECDS India, described the project as the company’s first manufacturing unit in the country.
