Apollo AyurVAID's Ambitious Leap: 1,000 Beds by 2028

Apollo AyurVAID, one of India’s largest Ayurvedic hospital networks, has announced plans to scale up its operations to 1,000 beds by 2028, driven by growing demand for evidence-based Ayurvedic care.

Currently operating 12 hospitals with 185 beds, the chain treats around 40,000–42,000 patients annually. It now aims to increase this number to 2,00,000 patients per year over the next five years and reach ₹500 crore in turnover by 2028.

According to Founder, CEO, and MD Rajiv Vasudevan, new hospitals are being planned in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, with the network expected to expand to 225 beds by August 2025. Most existing centres have a capacity of 40–45 beds.

Apollo AyurVAID offers specialised Ayurvedic treatment for complex medical conditions, including stroke rehabilitation, cancer recovery, Parkinsonism, diabetes, infertility, and rheumatic diseases.

In 2022, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise acquired a 60% stake in AyurVAID for ₹26.4 crore. Since then, a total of ₹80 crore has been invested in the business, helping it achieve a revenue CAGR of 75%. The company closed FY25 with ₹32 crore in revenue and is targeting a ₹100 crore annual run rate within the next 12–15 months, Vasudevan added.
