Kharicut Canal: Ahmedabad's ₹979 Crore Transformation

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has issued a tender for the comprehensive development of the Kharicut Canal, with an estimated project cost of ₹979.26 crore.

The project spans key urban corridors, covering sections of SP Ring Road, Vatva, Naroda, Vastral, and Ghodasar, and extending further towards Ropda Lake and the Khari River. Specific stretches include SP Ring Road to Naroda Smashan Gruh, and Vinzol Vehla through Ghodasar Aavkar Hall to Vatva, forming a continuous canal network within the AMC jurisdiction and beyond.

Aimed at improving irrigation systems, water management, and urban connectivity, the initiative is a major step toward enhancing infrastructure resilience and sustainability across Ahmedabad.

The deadline for bid submission is 15 September 2025.
