The proposed twin-flyover project on the Nagpur–Katol Road (NH-353J) has moved a step closer to reality, with the PWD finalizing its Detailed Project Report (DPR). Instead of a single continuous structure, the revised design features two separate elevated corridors totaling 2.25 km—one bridging Gittikhadan Square (1.325 km) and another crossing the Ring Road junction (925 m).
By utilizing existing right-of-way boundaries, the ₹250-crore project avoids land acquisition while including a complete four-lane concrete upgrade for the entire 4.6 km stretch. Once state approval and tendering are complete, the project will significantly ease peak-hour congestion for commuters traveling toward Katol and Chhindwara.
