Kolkata’s Urban Makeover: ₹3,000 Cr Infra & Green Energy Drive

The West Bengal Urban Development and Municipal Affairs (UDMA) Department has taken a decisive step toward urban transformation by entering into two strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).

Targeting key areas across Kolkata and Bidhannagar, the initiatives combine infrastructure modernization—including overhead cable clearing, beautification, and multi-level parking—with a ₹3,000 crore sustainable waste-to-compressed biogas (CBG) project proposed by Skymax Infra Power. Together, these projects aim to modernize civic amenities, promote environmental sustainability, and create up to 2,000 local jobs.
