Odisha WRD Invites Bids for Rs 100.41 Cr Jeera River Barrage Project

Water Resources Department (WRD), Odisha has issued a tender for the construction of an instream-storage structure (ISS) at Sarsara Balitikra across the Jeera River in the Bargarh district.

The project will be executed on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) turnkey basis, incorporating a power connectivity system alongside comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) for a period of five years. The estimated project cost is Rs 100.41 crore, and the execution period spans 912 calendar days (approximately 30 months), which accounts for the monsoon season.

Key components of the barrage/ISS/weir infrastructure encompass foundation and floor construction, alongside integrated civil, hydraulic, and associated electrical works. The inclusion of long-term O&M extends the scope past the initial construction and commissioning phase.

The deadline for final bid submission is 12 October 2026.
