The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) is planning to develop a 126-acre industrial township in Palghar, near Mumbai, as part of the state’s vision to create a “Fourth Mumbai” in the Palghar–Vadhavan–Boisar belt.
The proposed township is aimed at transforming the region into a major urban-industrial hub, leveraging its strategic location within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). CIDCO has invited bids from developers and companies for long-term leasing of land parcels.
The project is expected to be anchored around the upcoming Vadhavan port, a key infrastructure initiative set to strengthen India’s trade and logistics capacity on the western coast.
The state government envisions the Palghar–Vadhavan corridor evolving into a large-scale, integrated urban-industrial cluster—similar to Navi Mumbai—with modern infrastructure, industrial ecosystems, and planned urban development to drive economic growth and employment generation.
