RENK Group, a global leader in advanced drive technologies for military and industrial use, has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu.
This strategic expansion reflects RENK’s long-term commitment to strengthening its presence in India’s defence and industrial markets while supporting its global operations. The facility will produce gear units for cement mills, gearboxes for power and energy applications, and couplings for international markets.
RENK’s approach combines a dual strategy of “local-for-local” to meet domestic demand and “local-for-global” to serve its international supply chain. A company spokesperson remarked, “This facility is more than just a production site—it reflects our trust in India’s potential and our ambition for the future. India plays a pivotal role in RENK’s global strategy, especially in the defence segment.”
RENK has previously supported key Indian defence initiatives, including supplying gear systems for the Arjun main battle tank and the INS Vikrant aircraft carrier. With this new plant, RENK India becomes further embedded in the company’s global manufacturing ecosystem.
