Apollo Tyres is considering the establishment of a new greenfield manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu as part of its long-term growth and capacity expansion strategy.
The proposed investment, estimated at over ₹3,000 crore, is being discussed with the state government, which is exploring suitable locations in southern Tamil Nadu for the project. The move comes as the company seeks to enhance production capacity amid strong demand and high utilisation levels at its existing manufacturing facilities.
Apollo Tyres currently operates plants in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh, with its Oragadam facility near Chennai serving as a key production hub. The company is also evaluating multiple locations for future expansion opportunities.
The proposed project is expected to support Tamil Nadu’s ambition of becoming a leading automotive and tyre manufacturing destination, while further strengthening the industrial ecosystem emerging across the southern region of the state.
