Shyam Metalics, a leading integrated metal producer, has entered the crash barrier manufacturing segment, with a target to capture 8–10% market share in FY 2025–26.
The company commenced production in August 2025 at its Giridih facility, which has an annual capacity of 24,000 MT and employs over 150 professionals. Originally established in 2014, the plant operates continuously and includes an advanced galvanisation unit. It manufactures W Metal Beam Crash Barriers, Thrie Beam Crash Barriers, and W Beam Railway Guard Rails, catering to Indian Railways and National Highways infrastructure projects.
To expand its presence, Shyam Metalics is investing ₹50 crore in a new manufacturing facility, aiming to achieve a total capacity of 60,000 TPA, with a strategic focus on markets in South and West India.
CMD Brij Bhushan Agarwal commented, “The launch of our crash barrier unit marks a significant step in strengthening India’s road and railway safety infrastructure. This segment alone has the potential to add nearly 50% more value to our Giridih operations.”
The company also has plans to export its products to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, further strengthening its global footprint.
