Borosil Ltd has announced plans to set up a new glassware manufacturing facility in Bharuch, Gujarat, and expand borosilicate glass furnace capacity at its plant in Jaipur, Rajasthan, as it seeks to meet growing demand for its products.
The company will invest ₹42 crore to establish the Bharuch facility, with commercial production expected to begin by December 2026, subject to required approvals. The plant will manufacture a range of glassware products, including storage jars, glass bottles, and glass jugs, and will be funded through internal accruals.
Borosil noted that it has been sourcing several of these products from the Bharuch plant of Borosil Scientific Ltd, where demand across these categories has remained strong and continues to rise.
To meet increasing market demand, the new unit will include dedicated mass-production lines aimed at boosting output and strengthening supply capabilities. Meanwhile, the planned furnace expansion at the Jaipur facility will increase the production of borosilicate glass, a key material used in many of the company’s product lines.
