Karnataka’s New Maritime Era: ₹7,247 Crore Approved

The Karnataka government has cleared major port and shipyard projects worth ₹7,247 crore to accelerate the state's maritime and industrial growth. The centerpiece of this initiative is a ₹6,925 crore port and shipyard facility in Manki (Uttara Kannada district), to be built via the DBFOT model with a 45-year concession period. By leveraging private-sector investment, the project aims to boost cargo handling, enhance shipbuilding capabilities, and streamline logistics along Karnataka’s Arabian Sea coastline while creating widespread opportunities for ancillary industries and service providers.
