Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of Gateway Dirang, a greenfield hotel project in Arunachal Pradesh, marking its entry into the emerging destination of Dirang in West Kameng district.
The upcoming hotel will feature 70 keys under the Gateway brand, catering to the growing demand for leisure and adventure tourism in the North East. Located along the route to Tawang, Dirang is increasingly gaining traction as both a stopover and a longer-stay destination, making it a strategic addition to IHCL’s portfolio.
The project is being developed in partnership with Phurpa Tsering, reflecting IHCL’s approach of collaborating with local stakeholders to promote regional development and tourism growth. This signing is in line with the company’s broader strategy of expanding into high-potential and emerging destinations across India. With this development, IHCL’s presence in the North East will rise to 21 hotels, including 12 currently under development.
The move highlights IHCL’s focus on strengthening its footprint in regions witnessing growing tourist interest, while contributing to infrastructure-led development and enhancing hospitality offerings in lesser-explored destinations.
