MDoNER Announces ₹360-Crore ‘Mission Sikkim Organics’

The Union Ministry for Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) has announced enhanced financial support for Sikkim, underscoring the state's role as a model for sustainable development, organic agriculture, and environmentally conscious growth.

Union Minister for MDoNER Jyotiraditya Scindia highlighted Sikkim’s achievements in ecological conservation, sustainable tourism, and organic farming, noting that the state's development trajectory aligns closely with the objectives of the Centre’s Act East policy.

During his visit to Gangtok for Sikkim’s 51st Statehood Day celebrations, Scindia launched the ‘Mission Sikkim Organics’ programme, an initiative with an estimated outlay of ₹360 crore. The programme aims to strengthen organic production, enhance value addition, improve market access, and position Sikkim as a globally recognized premium organic economy.
