Power Mech Powers Up Bihar with ₹159 Crore Solar Boost

Power Mech Projects has been awarded contracts by the Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) for the development of grid-connected distributed solar power plants under the PM-KUSUM Component C2 Scheme. These projects aim to solarise agricultural and mixed-load feeders across multiple power substations in Bihar, implemented under the RESCO (Renewable Energy Service Company) model. Power generated from these plants will be procured by the state DISCOMs—North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL).

The total capacity of the awarded projects is 13.66 MW (AC), with an estimated revenue of approximately ₹159 crore over a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) period. The project scope includes design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and comprehensive O&M, along with associated transmission infrastructure development.

The projects will be executed at three key sites:

Rajoun: 4.221 MW | Contract value: ₹48.29 crore

Sakahara: 4.285 MW | Contract value: ₹49.02 crore

Sambhuganj: 5.155 MW | Contract value: ₹61.78 crore

All installations are scheduled for completion within 12 months, reinforcing Power Mech’s strategic expansion into the renewable energy sector and its commitment to supporting India’s clean energy transition.
