Hindustan Power (HPL) has secured a contract from SJVN to develop a 100 MW solar power project integrated with a 200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
The project, connected to the inter-state transmission system (ISTS), was awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process, followed by a successful e-reverse auction.
This award is part of a larger initiative involving 1,200 MW of solar PV projects and 600 MW/2,400 MWh of energy storage systems to be developed across India. The goal is to enhance grid reliability by ensuring consistent power supply during peak demand periods and when solar generation is low.
