Suzlon's Second-Largest Order Signals FDRE Boom

Suzlon Group has secured its largest order in FY26, totaling 838 MW, from Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL)—one of India’s leading renewable energy companies. The order is part of TPREL’s Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project, aimed at delivering round-the-clock, grid-stable clean power.

This is Suzlon’s second-largest order to date, following the 1,544 MW contract from NTPC Green Energy, and marks a significant milestone in the evolution of FDRE systems—which are emerging as a key component of India’s transition to sustainable, reliable energy.

The 838 MW capacity will include 266 units of Suzlon’s S144 wind turbines, each rated at 3.15 MW, to be installed across three states:

Karnataka: 302 MW, Maharashtra: 271 MW, Tamil Nadu: 265 MW

This project falls under the FDRE bids awarded to SJVN and NTPC, reflecting growing momentum in hybrid and dispatchable renewable solutions.

The collaboration underscores the alignment between Suzlon’s advanced wind technology and Tata Power’s vision for scalable, grid-integrated clean energy infrastructure. It also reinforces the role of “Made in India” innovation in delivering high-performance, cost-effective energy solutions to power the nation’s clean energy future.
