Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has been declared the lowest bidder (L1) for a significant power infrastructure project involving the construction of a 220/132/33 kV Gas-Insulated Substation (GIS) at Nandanpur in Bankura district, along with associated transmission works in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. The project has been tendered by the West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL).
The scope of work includes the construction of the substation, bay extension, and the development of comprehensive transmission infrastructure. Major deliverables cover the engineering, design, and preparation of detailed substation layouts, as well as the supply and installation of all GIS components and associated outdoor equipment.
Civil works comprise the construction of foundations, GIS buildings, control rooms, utility structures, and staff quarters, as outlined in the bid specifications.
Additionally, the project involves check and detailed surveys, including profiling and tower spotting, followed by the fabrication, galvanization, and supply of Double Circuit (D/C) and Multi Circuit (M/C) transmission towers. The scope also includes the supply and stringing of ACSR Moose and ACSR Panther conductors and earth wires to complete the transmission network.
