IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company Limited has secured a subcontract worth Rs 414.05 crore for a key package of the Jaipur Metro Phase-II Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) project.
The subcontract covers the design and construction of an elevated viaduct, ten elevated metro stations and a depot spur line along the corridor stretching from chainage (-) 600 metres to 11,400 metres. The scope includes civil construction works for stations at Prahladpura, Manpura, Bilwa Kalan, Goner Mod, Sitapura, JECC, Kumbha Marg, Haldighati Gate and Pinjrapole Gaushala, excluding architectural finishing works.
The awarded package constitutes approximately 49 percent of the total contract value awarded by Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC). The company has received the Letter of Award (LoA) from the lead member and principal contractor of the consortium, enabling the commencement of project execution activities.
The project forms an important component of the Jaipur Metro Phase-II expansion programme, which aims to strengthen the city’s public transportation network and enhance urban mobility. The contract further reinforces IL&FS Engineering’s presence in the urban infrastructure sector and highlights its experience in executing large-scale metro rail and transportation projects across India.
Upon completion, the project is expected to improve connectivity, reduce travel times and support sustainable urban development by providing efficient mass transit infrastructure for the growing population of Jaipur.
