Maharashtra Invites Bids for ₹200 Crore Uma Barrage Project

The Water Resources Department (WRD) of Maharashtra has invited bids for the development of the Uma Barrage Medium Project near Rohna village on the Uma River in Akola district.

The project includes the construction of a barrage with a gross storage capacity of 20.79 million cubic meters (Mm³), aimed at irrigating 6,813 hectares across 21 villages.

Scope of work involves:

Construction of a gravity-based closed pipe distribution system (up to 3.00 Ha),

Execution of civil and Part-1 works,

Formation and strengthening of Water User Associations (WUAs),

Operation and maintenance of the system for five years post-completion.

The project is valued at ₹200.19 crore and is expected to be completed within 36 months.
