The Board of Directors of Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited (GACL) has granted in-principle approval to establish a new Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) Synthesis Unit at its Dahej manufacturing complex in Gujarat, with an estimated capital outlay of ₹55 crore.
Designed to enhance chlorine utilization and optimize caustic soda production, the project aligns with GACL’s overarching strategy to boost operational efficiency and strengthen backward/forward integration. Furthermore, the additional HCl output will serve as a critical feedstock for GACL’s previously approved Phosphoric Acid Plant at the same location.
Currently at the board approval stage, the project will next move into detailed engineering, statutory clearances, procurement, and construction.
