Sigachi Strengthens Portfolio with Croscarmellose Sodium Plant

Sigachi Industries, a Hyderabad-based leader in excipient manufacturing, is set to commission its new croscarmellose sodium (CCS) production facility in Dahej, Gujarat, by October 2026. The company has received environmental clearance for the project.

Managing Director & CEO Amit Raj Sinha stated that CCS will strategically complement Sigachi’s flagship microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) product line, enabling the company to offer a more comprehensive excipient portfolio.

In FY25, Sigachi recorded a 29.57% increase in MCC production, reaching 19,387 MTPA—well above the industry average. MCC revenue has grown at a five-year CAGR of 26.47%, with current capacity being expanded to 25,000 MTPA to meet rising demand.

Additionally, the company is scaling its presence in the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) segment. This effort is supported by its 2023 acquisition of an 80% stake in Trimax Bio Sciences and the establishment of a new state-of-the-art R&D center in Hyderabad.
