Double Decade, Double Impact: The Tata-Stellantis MoU

Stellantis and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles have marked two decades of collaboration through their joint venture, Fiat India Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. (FIAPL), by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

The MoU sets the framework for exploring additional opportunities in manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain operations. The 50:50 joint venture employs nearly 5,000 people and has an annual production capacity of about 222,000 vehicles. Since its inception, FIAPL has manufactured more than 1.37 million vehicles. The company operates a manufacturing facility at Ranjangaon near Pune, where it produces four Jeep models and three Tata Motors passenger vehicles. The new agreement seeks to deepen collaboration by leveraging FIAPL’s strengths in powertrain development and supply chain management.

Both companies reaffirmed their commitment to innovation and sustainable growth across Indian and international markets. The Ranjangaon plant currently manufactures vehicles such as the Jeep Compass and Tata Nexon, with exports to global markets including Japan and South Africa.
