A decade-long legal battle ends in a major win for Ashok Leyland. The commercial vehicle manufacturer has secured a ₹222.65 crore partial arbitral award, along with interest and legal costs, against the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC).
The dispute stems from bus supply contracts executed between 2009 and 2011. While Ashok Leyland initially sought ₹445 crore in its 2013 arbitration filing, the tribunal's ruling hands them a significant partial victory while entirely throwing out DTC’s ₹136 crore counterclaim.
