PM Modi to Inaugurate ₹4,727-Crore Bhogapuram Airport on August 1

A major milestone for India's eastern coast! The new Bhogapuram International Airport in Vizianagaram district is preparing for its official inauguration on August 1 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Developed by GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport (GVIAL) via a PPP model, the ₹4,727-crore Phase 1 project was delivered in an impressive 2.5 years—nearly five months ahead of schedule. Now fully licensed and Digi Yatra-ready, this state-of-the-art airport goes beyond travel: it’s an economic catalyst featuring MRO services, air cargo infrastructure, premium commercial zones, and seamless connectivity to accelerate trade, industrial growth, and tourism in the region.
