PM Modi to Inaugurate AP’s Bhogapuram Airport This July

The GMR Group’s Bhogapuram International Airport near Visakhapatnam is gearing up for a grand opening, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to inaugurate Andhra Pradesh’s first greenfield airport in the third week of July. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) is currently reviewing a selection of tentative dates to finalize the schedule.

In preparation for the launch, officials are wrapping up operational arrangements, passenger services, and regulatory approvals. Notably, the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) has officially approved the airport's User Development Fee (UDF) structure:

Domestic Passengers: ₹835 (Departing) | ₹355 (Arriving)

International Passengers: ₹1,255 (Departing) | ₹545 (Arriving)

Once operational, the Bhogapuram International Airport is poised to significantly boost regional air connectivity and drive economic growth across northern Andhra Pradesh.
