The Union Cabinet has approved the extension of the lease for Nagpur International Airport, clearing the way for its modernisation through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
According to an official statement, the decision marks a major step forward in the development of the airport under the Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur initiative.
As part of the approved framework, MIHAN India will be permitted to license the airport to GMR Nagpur International Airport Ltd for a period of 30 years.
The move is expected to support long-term infrastructure planning and modernisation at the airport, further strengthening its position in the region’s aviation and logistics network.
