Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the spectacular new terminal at Jodhpur Airport this Saturday. Developed at an estimated cost of ₹400 crore, the 2.52 lakh sq ft facility seamlessly marries Rajasthan’s rich architectural heritage with cutting-edge infrastructure. Designed by Sthapati India, the terminal features striking traditional elements, including a fluted dome crowned with a kalash, multifoil arches, and a grand entrance inspired by the region's iconic forts.
Beyond its stunning aesthetics, the terminal is built for the future. It is capable of handling up to two million passengers annually—with a peak-hour capacity of 1,000 passengers—and comes equipped with six aerobridges, streamlined security zones, and advanced baggage handling. Embracing sustainability, the design incorporates climate-responsive glazing, solar power, and energy-efficient HVAC systems as it targets GRIHA certification. This world-class facility arrives just in time to support Jodhpur's booming aviation traffic, which has more than doubled over the past 12 years.
