AAI Invites Bids for ₹457 Crore Varanasi Airport Expansion Project

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has invited bids for the extension of the runway at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

The project scope includes re-carpeting and strengthening of the existing runway, along with the construction of a parallel taxiway, link taxiway, rapid exit taxiway (RET) with shoulders, blast pad, perimeter road, drainage systems, Runway End Safety Area (RESA), and leveling and grading works. It also involves strengthening of the basic runway strip, as well as construction of an apron, isolation bay with shoulders, and ground support equipment (GSE) area.

The estimated contract value is ₹456.97 crore, with a scheduled completion timeline of 18 months from the date of contract award.

The deadline for bid submission is June 6, 2025.
