The Andhra Pradesh government will establish a state logistics corporation to streamline cargo movement across ports, airports, inland waterways, and railways, enhancing logistics efficiency and connectivity.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to draft a comprehensive blueprint, positioning the corporation as a strategic enabler for the 20 ports and airports currently under development. He also proposed amendments to the AP Maritime Policy to align with the Centre’s shipbuilding cluster scheme, aiming to attract shipbuilding investments in Machilipatnam, Mulapeta, and Chinaganjam, where early investor interest is visible.
The state also plans to develop satellite townships around upcoming ports, airports, and MSME parks in all 175 assembly constituencies to drive regional economic growth. CM Naidu emphasized fast-tracking the Kuppam and Dagadarthi airport projects, including land acquisition and construction of link roads to national highways, with viability gap funding where needed.
The initiative is expected to reduce transportation costs, enhance logistics competitiveness, and leverage Andhra Pradesh’s strategic location for nationwide trade connectivity.
